We recently had the wonderful opportunity to watch the premiere showing of IMAX Under The Sea 3D directed and produced by our good friends at Howard Hall Productions. This spectacular film, shot on IMAX’s 72mm film in 3D, brings the splendors of the world’s most exotic undersea locations to life in a way unlike any other film.

No other natural history film makes you feel so close to the action without ever getting your feet wet. Using sophisticated rebreathers and camera equipment, tons of hours of logistical planning, and, of course, an unyielding love affair for the ocean, Howard and Michelle Hall bring some of the ocean’s most intriguing denizens to the big screen.

Watching a great white shark pop out of the screen and the kaleidoscopic mating dance of cuttlefish was so amazing. The entire film kept us so enthralled we had to watch it a second time back-to-back. With all the diving we do there is always something very unique about the Hall’s films. Personally, I really enjoy the unique fish behaviors they capture so elegantly and the comical way they sometimes present them. Under The Sea 3D was filled from beginning to end with such moments.
