Turtles and more!

Dive Conditions:

  Seas: 4 - 6 ft
  Visibility: 80 ft
  Water Temp: 78°F
  Current: Mild North

We had a great group of divers on the boat today. Not willing to let anything stop them from a scuba adventure they laughed as 4 – 6 foot seas had Deep Obsession moving about like a carnival ride. Making our way to our first dive site, South Double Ledges, we were treated with over 80 feet of visibility and a great time diving. A baby green sea turtle, large angel fish, lobsters, and an eye-popping view of this beautiful reef was just a few of things we encountered.

We sneaked back into the inlet during the surface interval. Out the inlet an hour later we experienced a few minutes of that carnival (wave) ride once again before we making our way out to Midreef. Guiding the group to Spearman’s barge we encountered the large school of fish that make this underwater wreck their home. Of course, a dive on Midreef wouldn’t be complete without spotting some of the many friendly Hawksbill turtles that call this reef system their home. As always, we found these lovely turtles feeding on their favorite snack – sponges!
