There’s a lot going on at JASA throughout the end of October. As we do every year, we have pulled our Palm Beach dive boat, Deep Obsession, into dry dock for her yearly maintenance. We should be back in the water by November 1st.
But the really exciting news is that we’re moving! Not to worry, we’re not going too far. We’ll be just up the road at Lake Park Marina; just east of Dunkin Donuts. Our shop will be located nearby on US-1. We are really excited about our move and by the time all the dust settles we will have a new Jim Abernethy’s Scuba Adventures Photo Gallery store. Sign up for our newsletter and we’ll keep you posted!
Guadalupe – Great White Shark Adventure
Wednesday, 15th of October 2008 - Blog written by Jim Abernethy
At the beginning of the month I had the pleasure of spending time with a very good friend Steve Drogin aboard the vessel Argo with the submarine Deepsee. The trip could not have gone any better. Steve’s guests on board were the type of people that you only have the pleasure of meeting once in a life time. Although the group itself was very diverse, I really enjoyed spending time with each and everyone. I am sure that I will spend more time in the future with all of them.
The crew of the Argo as well as the crew of Deepsee were first class in every way. We all enjoyed diving in the submarine looking at creatures we have never seen before. When we were not in the sub we were taking pictures of the numerous great white sharks that were swimming around the boat. I have never been on a trip that I enjoyed as much as this one. On an adventure scale this was off the charts for so many reasons. Please enjoy the images.
Wetpixel Quarterly

The new issue of Wetpixel Quarterly has arrived and it features an amazing portfolio of photographs from our own Jim Abernethy. Sharks, dolphins, turtles and even some macro critters are showcased alongside an interview of Jim Abernethy.
Also in the latest issue is the micro photography work of our own Laz Ruda. If you’ve seen him on our Palm Beach boat excited about some microscopic creatures he just brought up in a jar well now is your chance to see those weird creatures at hundreds of times their normal size.
Purchase a copy of Wetpixel Quarterly in our online store or subscribe to the magazine online.
UPDATE:
An Adobe Acrobat (PDF) excerpt of Jim Abernethy’s Portfolio from the Wetpixel Quarterly issue is now available online. View it here.
